These are my first impressions of the suit, having worn it for two days over 240 miles in a low temp of 60° and a high of about 100°, riding into the mountains in the morning and back down to the city in the afternoon.Fit - The inseam length worried me when I ordered, I hadn't been able to try it on (thanks Covid) and couldn't find a short medium. Standing up, the kneepads are down at my shins, seated on the bike they ride up to the knees where they should be. No problem there. The overall leg length is far longer on me than it needs to be, I think the short inseam size would have been a better fit. The chest girth straps are in my armpits, which makes them harder to adjust properly. The rest are okay, some can't be tightened enough for my liking because they lack enough velcro. The arm length feels just right for me, I Think a small might have been too short even if other proportions were better. Overall I feel a bit goofy walking around in the thing because it is so baggy when not seated on a bike.Cooling - The chest area has an inner mesh zip and you can open two rear zips for flow through ventilation. The rear zips are impossible to reach when suit is worn and you will get very limited air flow to arms and legs. I feel the mesh area is very weak and if an accident were to occur this area would just rip apart and damage the user in the process.Warmth - In 60° temps wearing a thin long sleeved shirt, my arms were the only part that I could feel coldness on. This is without the inner liner in place. With the liner and a fleece, this ought to keep me warm into October or November, though I've yet to find gloves that don't suck.Pro - The zippers are very stiff and seem to be of decent quality. I have a Fieldshear jacket with a busted zipper that only lasted a season, so I hope this has some more durability to it.Pro - There are a lot more pros about the suit, weather resistance, durability and such as the manufacturer mentions on the product page but which I haven't the experience with to address yet.Con - The neck opening is not designed for adult humans, it doesn't reach all the way around my 12.5" circumference neck. Wearing a fleece, this snap wouldn't come anywhere close to being secured. On the plus side they put a bit of elastic near the snap so you can fold the snap into it and it's not constantly banging on your helmet, which it totally will.Con - Pockets are tiny and poorly placed. I can't get a phone into any of them and zip it up. My phone isn't huge. Their placement is bad as well, two pockets are on the left leg. I anticipate that in many types of common accident that leg is going to take a lot of abuse. It would suck to be hit by a driver who fled the scene only to find that your phone has shattered and been shoved into the flesh of your leg, or that your wallet dislocated your knee.Overall the issues with the size I bought vs the size that may fit slightly better aren't enough to make me want to try to return the suit. I anticipate wearing it more in colder temps and with warm layers on underneath so the extra space will not be an issue. The high-viz is nice, can see it glow in the early morning. If you are my height and want a perfect fit, go small or hunt down a short inseam medium.I'll update after I put some more miles on it. Next week I'm going back to mesh because I would probably die of hyperthermia if I tried to wear this suit in 110° city traffic.Police like "Rocket" in reflective lettering across the back. Only purchased as a back up to my aerostitch while in for a factory cleaning.Excellent suit but there is one major short coming for small in stature riders. The ( small size ) does not even come in a ( small short ) size. I am around 5' 4" and the small suit measures 68" or 5' 8". I knew this before purchase but plan on having it altered this summer. One star off is for not offering the small suit in a ( small short size ). However the pant legs can be turned or rolled up on the inside to match your inseam size and will stay put while riding, so if you are okay with doing that each time this suit will work for you.Another star off is for the color. Your choices are Black, Black, or Black. It's a proven fact Black the worse color for motorist to see. Black with a lot more lighter color reflective striping would be a big improvement.Overall the Joe Rocket Survivor Suit is a well designed one piece suit for colder weather and I imagine warm weather temperatures too. Strong zippers, snaps, and buckles and plenty of adjustments to make it fit on most riders too. The neck snap fit perfect for me and nice wrist zippers will cover gloves inside or outside. The material is windproof and the triple pocket closures means you will never lose what is inside. The wife and I own 3 jackets and 1 pair of boots and give 5 stars to all other Joe Rocket gear we bought over the years. The survivor suit is great but really fails in the short rider size department in my opinion. If they begin offering a ( small short size ) in the future, I would probably buy one. I bet more smaller riders wouldn't hesitate to buy this suit if it was the correct size.i tried this suit for over a week and now i have to return it. before i get into detail i want to tell you that i waited over a year for this togo on sale. its sold for $480 at my local cycle gear and i got it for $260.my helmet, jacket and shirt are all small sizes. joe rocket is always small size and i never had issue with it however this time it ran me so small that i had to suck my belly in and the pants ran long. i am 30x30. i messaged seller which happened to be amazon, to exchange for different size. they never replied. i called customer service but lady said i would have to buy new one and return this. cool with me, but they charge $380 for medium size. so....now my honest pros:tested at 26F with extremely chilly winds in upstate NY and suit did just fine. but be alarmed i was wearing proper thermal under. no other clothing. i couldnt be so happy because i ride my motorcycles all year and i am sick of all the layers and clothing. this part alone wanted me to get another size and ignore all cons.CE armor comes with it, not back protector thosleek minimal design good for harley crowd as well as advernture bikers. doesnt scream its logo.its a onsie but if you want to take a leak without taking suit off, you sure can. the zipper goes all the way to your thigh so no issue.cons:pockets are absolutely useless. my 5s phone wont fit.the adjustable knee pads are joke. you cant adjust them unless you take suit off and velcro it to next position.the d ring straps are bound to breakadjustability for cufflings are useless as well.i am giving it 4 because i wanted a suit for winter and its good for that. but it sucks they charge more for size.Perfectly fit. Great value for the price. Considered Klim, but way expensive than this.Fits great. Wide enough in the shoulders so that it doesn't bind.
