Average build at 6’2” 210 lbs and rocking a dad bod. Picked this jacket in XL and length is perfect, chest is comfortable, but sleeves are long. Read reviews that you can have it tailored. If I was wearing layers, jacket would still fit comfortably. Definitely a rain jacket and you need layers to deal with cold.I love this jacket, it keeps we warm in windy conditions, in rain does pretty well too. The hood fits climbing helmets and all the pockets are awesome. My only complaint is the cuff straps, they only has two adjustments using snaps, seems like velcro would have been a better choice there so it can fit infinitely all sizes. Oh and the color I got, gray/black is on the warmer side of the shade. If you care about that sort of thing. Tends to clash with other cooler grays and blacks.I love this jacket.Fit: I got a small and it fits perfectly. I'm 6'3", 40L, 31" waist and it is wonderful to have something with sleeves that are long enough with a torso that is not "comfort fit". The torso is slim and the sleeves are long. At the wrist is a snap. If I do not snap it to the tighter size it is quite baggy around the wrists so I snap them every time I put the jacket on. However, I can not take the jacket off with them snapped so I undo them before removing the jacket. The sleeves are sewn slightly bent at the elbow with contributes to the fitted feeling of the jacket.Material: It feels like it will wear very well. I've had it about a year now and and it shows no signs of wear. I have not waxed it and it resists water but is not waterproof by any means. There is no lining in the jacket and it provides a minimal level of warmth but is adequate for cool days and evenings.Price: Fjallraven stuff is spendy but it certainly isn't static. Wait until it goes on sale, here or elsewhere. That said, I feel like I'm going to get the miles from this jacket that it cost.I was looking for something water resistant that i could wear day in and day out that isnt too bulky and this jacket fits the bill perfectly, its thin enough that i can layer a jumper or two underneath if needed but ive found myself wearing it with only a long sleeve top underneath as its quite warm and keeps all wind/rain out.very happy with the quality and im sure it will last forever, im about 75kg 5'10 and medium fit me pretty well, the sleeves are quite long though, a small may have fit me better but it's quite slim fitting and doesent look bulky at all even though its slightly bigger than usual medium sizing in clothes.the dark grey colour looks very black not solid black but very close i was hoping it would be slightly lighter in colour.all in all im very happy with the purchase i wanted something i can throw on in the rain and remove an underneath layer as the weather changes (cant do that with a down jacket) it looks good in the wild and on the streets as its a little less outdoor spec in style.9/10To be expected, Fjallraven has a tendency, as many who one one know, to have sleeves that run a little long. I normally wear a Small in all my outerwear, (5'5"-5'6", 38" chest, 32" waist) but knowing this going in, I got the x-small and I'm glad I did. everywhere fits just right, allowing me to wear a middle layer down jacket for warmth (note: this is a noninsulated jacket, it will provide nearly ZERO warmth. It is made to keep the rain and wind out, not the temperature) and still have just enough room to maneuver in. sleeves run long, but the button clasps help to cinch it down at my wrists. Love this jacket.I get lots of compliments on this jacket. Its great for wettish weather (not downpours) for the mid 40's to mid 50;s Fahrenheit. If you layer it works in colder weather too. Large is a perfect fit for men; 5'11, 196 lbs. The neck zips a bit tight and when you get into a car maker sure to hike up the bottom a bit.Love this jacket and it gets compliments. A bit large, but lets me easily layer over shirt+sweater/fleece/blazer. Long enough that it covers a blazer. The sleeves a just a bit too long. Would be fine if they snapped tight at the wrist (the same jacket in a different color did, but this jacket in Navy had looser placement of the snaps, so the sleeves still fall half-way down my hand. Could just be a QC issue).I'll probably modify the sleeves with some velcro. Otherwise great coat. This is a great jacket - it’s very stylish, lightweight and keeps you dry.The arms are very long though - I’m 6ft and I originally ordered a large but had to return it - the medium was a much better fit for me in terms of arm length.Unless you’re happy with the sleeves covering your hands you’ll have to make do with a fairly snug fit - I’m 185lbs and the medium fits well. The problem with writing reviews, is that often you never have the product for long enough. These are my thoughts after about a month. So I bought the coat for weather exactly like we have seen for the last few weeks - c20 degrees C and some pretty heavy rain showers. It says it’s not waterproof so I don’t expect it to be. I’ve been caught out a few times in heavy showers (once in Waitrose car park and the other coming home from the pub - so it’s well tested!!) but so far the water has beaded and I haven’t got wet. I would say it’s exceeded expectations in that regard. What I like most about this coat compared with say my Barbour or my old beghaus is that it has the feel of a cotton jacket. It feels breathable. It feels quite premium actually. It’s just comfortable to be in.The hood is cavernous but adjustable and the pockets are easily accessible and well placed. So I’m pleased with it. Certainly so far. And since water proofing is done with a block of wax and is “adjustable” to suit (I think it will take a bit of trial and error) but it should be easy to reproof to the level I like.CheersI purchased a Large as a natural medium based on other reviews and so I can layer up underneath. This was the right choice...Admittedly I've packed on a few lbs over the lockdown and winter so was cautious about new purchases which didn't help.I've lost some of those lbs now and the jacket is still a good fit - length too and I'm looking forward to the spring and removing some layers also. The quality of materials, zips, toggles, poppers are excellent; very much like my Paramo gear. The material seems thin but this is not an issue as in a stiff cold breeze it's doing the trick of blocking the cold out.Only one down side is the leather zip ends as they have an unfinished back the leather bits come off on the jacket which is a slight niggle...Fit is good too, hood is large so another hoodie can be worn underneath.I've used the recommended was block and it's easy to use and apply. Haven't worn out in the rain as yet but as this is the UK there'll be plenty of opportunities!!!From reading other reviews I suspect reapplications of wax will be required but no worries it's all trial and error in the beginning.Lastly to add it's a pretty cool jacket and is great around the town, trail or hills. Will update again very soon when caught in the rain!!I've purchased other Fjallraven products before so sized up and so this fitted perfectly for me.Used the jacket now for about a month including walking, camping and day to day. This is not a wind blocker but that's ideal as it's the first walking jacket that actually doesn't result in me over heating beacue this thing breaths. It's better than the Arc'teryx alpha Ar jacket and the OR hellium in terms of breathability. (Both are great jackets) that I have owned and used in the past.Yes it's not completely water proof, although because of the g1000 fabric you can wax it quickly and easily to increase rain and wind protection and all you need is wax and a iron. However I've used this in the UK in some heavy showers and it's kept me mostly dry without any extra wax, as we move into the autrum I've waxed the hood and top side of the arms for more protection and for that reason it's better then other jackets...I don't need my armpits to be water proof, I need my shoulders to be water proof and it's easy to keep the best of both and increase or decrease the water proof to bethability ratio than any other jacket I've tried.100% recommend this jacket.Quite difficult to review this. Fjallraven are from a magical land where winter coats don't need to be waterproof because magical Northeuropia has mostly snow. So they don't make them waterproof. You can, if you wish pay £10 for a wax bar and do it yourself. It will then be slightly less wet but still not waterproof. It's very nice, in the way of these things although the fat people amongst us struggle to fit my ample gut Into it. So to recap: really nice anorak which is not windproof or waterproof but looks pretty. And it's not olive, it's brown.well i couldnt imagine that the jacket will be THIS THIN but it is great. I dont find it so windproof as the others say but in every other situation is so good. It can protect you in moderate rains and it dries really fast. I am wearing it with a good fleece inside and i was in zero temperature also...not so bad.The greatest thing about it is that its feel! It feels SO premium and good looking. Also it is SO light for everyday wearing. It breaths so nice too. After long walks on vacations i never feel sweaty. The pockets are very helpfull too as i traveled a lot with it.Overall excellent product that feels premium and so durable!
